Darrel Griffith starred at a Louisville Male and was heavily recruited by colleges all across the country. He stayed in Kentucky & attend his hometown school, the University of Louisville.


Darrell lead the Cardinals to their first NCAA championship in 1980. Nicknamed "Dr. Dunkenstein" for his high-flying slams that he said people still remind him about, Griffith says he was just happy to give his hometown and school a championship.


Utah selected Griffith with the second overall pick in the 1980 NBA Draft. He averaged 20.6 points per game in his first season and earning the NBA's Rookie of the Year Award.


He scored 12,391 total points over the course of his 10-year professional career – all with the Jazz. He was elected into the NBA Hall of Fame in 2014
